It’s cold outside: would you like to find the house already warm when you arrive, by switching the heating on from your phone the day before?

BGates AI 4G is a module that the installer fits in the gate’s electrical panel, with the 4G SIM already inside. From then on, the gate opens with a phone call, or from the app.

The day before you leave, switch the heating on from your phone and set the temperature. It is the device that holds it, not the phone: once set, it stays in force even with your phone switched off.

It works for a boiler, a pellet stove or a water heater: anything that switches on with a switch.

BGates AI 4G, €69.00 incl. VAT, plus the BGates Smart SIM, from €3.99 a month. Fitting it is work on the electrical panel: an installer does it.

The wrought-iron pedestrian gate of a house, with the path behind it

It opens from your phone, and the screen tells you whether it moved

The neighbour and the plumber: which days, which hours. With the Business plan, each person has their own days and time slots, and access stops on the end date. The device enforces days and time slots when someone opens by calling, so they apply even while the house has no data connection. Whoever opens from the app, on the other hand, can open at any time: the time slot does not stop them.

Up to 500 authorised numbers per device: you don’t pay per person.

In a momentthe gate responds and «Confirmed» appears on the screen

Never in the darkif the network is slow, the app waits for the reply and tells you

The app of a home: the gate with the Open button and the heating of the basement room, 19.5 °C inside and a 21 °C target.

It is the latest reading sent by the device: the app shows it when you open it. We don’t keep a temperature history, only the latest reading counts.

Questions and answers

The questions we hear most often from people with a home far away.

  • Without power the device switches off and the house stops responding. When the power comes back, the device reconnects by itself and starts working again: nobody needs to go there to restart anything.

If you have switched notifications on, the management software flags the device that stops responding; and when you open the app you see it as unreachable. While it is off, you need your usual key or remote control to get in: that is why you should keep an alternative way in.

  • The device does not use the home wifi and does not depend on the router: it has its own data SIM. Where the signal is weak, an external antenna is fitted, which is in the price list.

If the data connection is down but there is enough signal for calls, anyone calling from an authorised number still opens: the list of numbers is also stored on the device. If there is no coverage at all, the command does not go out and the app says so instead of pretending.

  • The app does not ask for a second code before opening: whoever unlocks the phone can open, exactly like someone who finds a remote control in a car.

What we can tell you is how to shut it off: remove that number from the device, or change the account password. From that moment that phone no longer opens, and the device confirms the removal.

  • No, and we would rather say so straight away. BGates opens the gate and switches on what you need: it does not watch the house, it does not call anyone, it does not replace an alarm and it is not an emergency system.

What it gives you is control over who comes in: every access has a name, it is removed when needed, and every opening is recorded. Always keep a key or a remote control, though.

A gate, a boiler, or both?

The screens are examples: they reproduce the real application, with names and numbers replaced. Confirmation times are measured on the openings recorded by the system.
